Wensley House Facilities

Lounges and Common Areas

The building is designed for comfort and practicality, aiming to make daily routines as homely as possible.

The main lounge is a light and comfortable room near the center of the building. It contains a variety of seats, colour TV, piano and audio centre.

The dining room is adjourning and a sundeck leads off both rooms.

This deck encircles the building and is a popular outdoor seating area, leading to lawns and gardens. There are three small alternative lounges, all situated on the Northern side of the building.

Security

An efficient fire and smoke alarm system and fire sprinklers operate in every room and throughout the entire complex. Every room is connected to a nurse call system and the grounds are patrolled nightly.

Meals

Meals are a very important part of our residents lives; we aim to make them enjoyable and nutritious.

They are always planned with the assistance of a dietician and we take advice from our customers with all special occasions and birthdays celebrated.

Activities

Individual and group hobbies and pastimes are provided for.

All residents are encouraged to participate in a varied programme of activities, but no one is obliged to do so.

Social gatherings and activities are arranged and outings provided by the staff, visitors and service clubs.

Spiritual Services

Regular interdenominational services are held and local ministers and church groups visit. A chaplain runs a popular weekly Bible group.
